A lot of bucket style lists come at a time of crisis or aging. Cue the shouts of “I haven’t done enough! I don’t want to turn thirty! What am I doing with my life?! AHHH!” Well, don’t you worry about me, I’m actually very excited for my next milestone of turning thirty. I keep thinking that maybe that’s the age I’ll finally feel like an adult – I‘m not holding out hope for that though…
The main reason I’ve created my ‘Thirty Before Thirty’ list is actually two-fold. Firstly, I am a sucker for a list. My life revolves around lists and colour coding and it always will. Secondly, my twenty ninth year is going to be a lot different than I expected. For years, I was convinced I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant, thanks to endometriosis and PCOS. Well, it turns out modern medicine is a miracle and there’s a little Rosie Abigail due halfway through my twenty-ninth year! So life has had a bit of a shake up, as have my priorities and goals. This is the perfect excuse to get them all down on paper.

1. Have an overnight stay at my wedding venue. It’s one of my favourite places on earth and I don’t get to spend enough time there. Plus, it’s boujee and makes me feel boujee.
2. Start making proper money from blogging and creation. I’ve been teetering on the edge of this for a while so it’s time to put in the effort and get this hustle moving.
3. Start a family – I’m almost there!
4. Maintain a good yoga practice. It’s good for the body, the mind, my mental health – I’ve just got to get back to it.
5. Go pottery throwing – it’s just darn fun.
6. Have an overnight stay in Bradford-Upon-Avon – it simply looks gorgeous.
7. Take a short course. I am just a forever teacher’s pet and love learning.
8. Hold a themed dinner party. What can I say, I love to host and to cook.
9. Get back into golf. It’s something that has been pretty hard to do whilst pregnant, so hopefully I can return post-baby. I’ve got the power behind me but I need to work on the actual aiming so I don’t kill anyone…
10. Start my book. I have three different ideas floating around between fiction and non-fiction, and they have been floating around for years. I just need to start getting the words down on the page – books don’t write themselves.
11. Visit Silverstone. And it doesn’t have to be on race day – I just want to visit!
12. Survive maternity leave. Maybe this is my main goal for the next year.
13. Get a new kitchen. We’ve actually started this project! We are currently in the clearing out of junk phase but everything should be fitted by mid-August. Cooking is one of my favourite hobbies so I am excited to actually have space to try new techniques and dishes.
14. Go on solo artists’ dates. I’ve really been neglecting filling my cup recently, and I need to look after all aspects of myself, including the creative self.
15. Get to 100k views on my blog. I won’t lie, we are nearly there! I know that number doesn’t seem massive compared to social media, but I love to physically imagine that many people in one space and it blows my tiny mind.

16. Set a date for our next Florida trip. Now this depends on many things – namely planning for a time when Trump is out of office and ICE are not ruining the country. But it’s one of my favourite places on earth, so I’d love to get a rough date in for a few years time so I can look forward to it.
17. Start my business. I’m not giving anything away right now, but know I’ve been a-planning…
18. Have a vegetable garden. I already have one planter full of veg which I adore – I just need a few more to call it a vegetable garden.
19. Keep on top of my endometriosis. Thankfully, this has taken a pause whilst I am pregnant, but I am determined to not wait around for it to become debilitating again. I’m going to advocate for myself from the get-go, keep constant notes, and engage with my support team.
20. Challenge myself in the kitchen. I want to learn knife skills, try new cuisines, and allow myself space to fail and learn.
21. Go on a solo trip. I’ve never done one and I’d love to. It doesn’t have to be abroad, it can be in my own country, my own county, my own city!
22. Produce more video content. I actually love making video content; it’s just time consuming. It’s time to get over that wall.
23. Have fortnightly dates with my husband. Right now, we are great at making time for each other. I know it will be harder when the baby arrives, so we both want to make sure we carve out time that is for us. Dinner dates, walks, or watching our show in front of the TV – as long as we actively make time to be together.
24. Start therapy. I’ve tried different types of therapy before but I think it’s time I bite the bullet and get myself a therapist.
25. Morning pages. I dip in and out of this practice but I feel infinitely better when I write morning pages. I need to make this a daily practice and make time for it for my sake.
26. Book a trip abroad. I need some lemon Fanta, crisps in a hotel room, and a beach – stat.
27. Be an advocate. Officially. If I had to choose a word to describe what I want to do with my life, it would be that.
28. Get a tattoo. Come on Rosie, you’ve been on about this for about seven years – just do it!
29. Keep on cross-stitching. I love it. It makes my brain switch off but keeps my hands busy. It’s a beautiful hobby.
30. Get back in the gym. At the start of the year, I had a great relationship with the gym. Okay, all I did was walk on the treadmill and read my book, but it felt great! Unfortunately, having HG in pregnancy has made that impossible, so I’m looking forward to when it can just be me, my treadmill, and my book again.
Let me know if you have any goals you want to complete by 2025, or what you have completed already! Let’s celebrate all the goodness.
